Wayne passed away on Saturday, May 16.

On Thursday, May 21st between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. there will be a 'celebration of life' at the Harvest Church in Wheatland on Front Street.  As per Wayne's request, there will be no long speeches, no long faces, but only a 'gathering to say 'good by to a friend.'

Wayne was one of the 'Wheatlanders' who went from a small town 8th grade class of 24 to a freshman class of nearly 100 students.  He was a Viet Nam veteran and was very active in the American Legion in Wheatland.

We'll miss you, Wayne.

John Wayne Cottrell 61, of Wheatland, CA, passed away May 17, 2009. Graveside service will be held 10:00AM Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Wheatland Cemetery.
