Body:
I was in Mr. Trousdale's 3rd period French class. They put the radio news over the intercom at about 10:50 am. I remember the time because the intercom speaker was right next to the clock on the wall. Walter Cronkite was the radio announcer, and at the point when they turned on the radio, the story was just that the president had been shot -- not killed. Cronkite reported something about the stock market, and I remember thinking that it must not be too serious, if they would mention something as trivial as the stock market. It wasn't 30 seconds later that Cronkite announced JFK's death. We were stunned. Mr. Trousdale was a good adult to be with at that moment, because he was calm and very sad. It really was a seminal moment for people of our generation, wasn't it?
